Silver Lake is the name of both a reservoir and an adjacent neighborhood on Staten Island. Located inside Silver Lake Park, the first city park to be established on Staten Island, Silver Lake was created in 1917 when water was brought there from the Ashokan Reservoir in Ulster County, New York, 119 miles (192 km) away, to fill it. It is home to the Silver Lake golf course.

Tree lined streets and beautiful Silver Lake park with nearby golf course and tennis courts are adjacent to a small entertainment district with bars and restaurants plus all forms of shopping within a short walk or drive. Commute to Manhattan is generally less than hour.
